In the context of the FANAL pre-deployment exercise involving the entire carrier strike group, French Navy (Marine Nationale) aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle set a new record: No less than 35 aircraft, including 30 Rafale Marine, were aboard. All aircraft were lined up on the flight deck for a “PHOTEX”.
The French Navy (Marine Nationale) took delivery of its first Dassault Rafale M fighter upgraded to the F-3R standard in December 2018. The two major capabilities introduced with the F3-R standard are the arrival of the Meteor BVRAAM missile (coupled with the Rafale’s RBE2 AESA radar) and the new-generation Talios targeting pod.
