China Transferring Navy Type 056 Corvettes to the Coast Guard
China has started transferring Type 056 corvettes from the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) to the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG).

China has started transferring Type 056 corvettes from the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) to the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG).
UK-based maritime classification society Lloyd’s Register will provide assurance and certification services for vessels being built in China for the Algerian Navy (likely similar to the Pattani-class or Centenary-class) and the Royal Thai Navy (an LPD based on the Type 071 class)
On June 17, 2020, a commissioning ceremony was held for the new corvette Type 056A “Jingdezhen” at the PLAN Naval Base in Xiamen (Fujiang Province).
The Chinese naval shipbuilding industry maintained its impressive production rate in 2019. In the past week alone, no less than 3 destroyers and a corvette were launched by various yards.
Since 2012, Chinese shipyards have launched 60 Type 056 corvettes and 20 Type 052D destroyers, illustrating once again the incredibly fast growing pace of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy).
