“The Knyaz Oleg built by Sevmash arrived to the Northern fleet. It is a temporary deployment base of the submarine, which will operate in the Pacific fleet,”

Northern fleet Commander Admiral Alexander Moiseev inspected the submarine. “He noted the professionalism of the crew who learn to operate the nuclear submarine as soon as possible,” it said.

The crew will undergo the basic training and make qualification missions in the Northern fleet. The submarine will then sail to the Pacific fleet. Vilyuchinsk will be her home port of call, the shipyard said.

The Knyaz Oleg joined the Navy on December 21, 2021 together with the Novosibirsk SSGN of project Yasen-M. The Knyaz Oleg began its sea trials in May 2021.
