Germany’s NVL Group, formerly Luฬrssen Defence, and its local shipyard partner MTG Dolphin, on December 3rd joined representatives of the contracting authority to launch construction of the first of two Multipurpose Modular Patrol Vessels (MMPV) for the Bulgarian Navy in Varna, Bulgaria.

The European Defence Agency’s Steering Board has approved the launch of a specific EDA ad hoc project which will contribute to the implementation of a Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) project aimed at developing a Deployable Modular Underwater Intervention Capability Package (DIVEPACK).

The NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency has begun work on a project to upgrade several of Bulgaria’s air defence radars, aircraft and naval vessels to the new NATO Combat Identification System, the NCI communication team said on March 17.
