The Baltic Shipyard in St Petersburg launched the third Project 22220 (LC-60Ya) nuclear-powered icebreaker “Ural” on May 25, 2019.
Russia launched the highly classified Project 09852 nuclear-powered special purpose submarine “Belgorod” on April 23, 2019, during a ceremony held at the Sevmash Shipyard in Severodvinsk. This submarine, rebuilt from an unfinished Project 949A Oscar-class SSGN is reportedly the first vessel able to carry and deploy the Status-6 / “Poseidon” nuclear torpedo system.
The Russian Navy’s first Project 20385 « Gremyashchiy » corvette started sea trials, the Severnaya Verf shipbuilder reported on April 21.
The Russian MoD is considering the procurement of two “Borei-K” nulcear-powered cruise missile submarines (SSGN). The design would be based on the Borei-class ballistic missile submarine (SSBN).
The first Project 636.3 (NATO designation: Improved Kilo-class) diesel electric submarine (SSK) for the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet was launched on March 28, 2019 in St. Petersburg at JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” (a member of united shipbuilding corporation OCK).
