Chantiers de l'Atlantique and Naval Group were notified yesterday of an order for four Logistic Support Ships (LSS). Previously known as FLOTLOG (for Flotte Logistique), the BRF (bâtiments ravitailleurs de force or force replenishment vessel) contract is valued at 1.7 Billion Euros. The design of the French BRF is based on the Italian LSS (Vulcano-class)

Boeing was awarded $15,9 million for modification P00001 to delivery order previously placed against basic ordering agreement N00019-16-G-0001. This modification exercises an option for the procurement of 79 Harpoon Block II Plus Tactical Missile upgrade kits for the U.S. Navy.

As part of the tender process for the introduction of the new Type 31e frigate generation, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems is one of the selected suppliers in the final design and offer phase in a consortium led by ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK including ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH and with British shipyards Harland & Wolff and Ferguson Marine Engineering. This was announced by the Royal Navy in London in December 2018.

ESG successfully achieved this milestone even with sustaining damage and work interruption due to Hurricane Michael.

The U.S. Navy held a keel laying and authentication ceremony for its twelfth Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) vessel, Newport (EPF 12), at Austal USA’s shipyard., Jan. 29. The keel was said to be “truly and fairly laid” as it was authenticated by Charlotte Dorrance Marshall, signing her initials into the keel plate.

OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation), a European intergovernmental organisation that manages collaborative armament programmes, announced that Aster 30 Block 1 NT Missile has passed Preliminary Design Review. Several other milestones for the FSAF-PAAMS Programme have been reached in late 2018.
