The U.S. Navy commissioned USS Delaware (SSN 791), the 18th Virginia-class attack submarine on April 4, 2020. It is the final Block III Virginia-class submarine, before the next wave of Block IV deliveries.
Sources in the Defense Ministry said the final SSGN deployment plan had been approved. Five submarines will serve in Russia’s Northern fleet, including the first of the Yasen-M class SSGN.
The Vepr SSN of project 971 began running trials after an upgrade and overhaul, a defense industry source told TASS.
