The Korea Coast Guard (KCG; Korean: 해양경찰ì²) is set to receive two additional 3,000 tons Tae Pyung Yang-class patrol vessels by 2023.
Since 2005, F/A-18 Super Hornet Block II aircraft have been rolling off Boeing’s production line and serving as the U.S. Navy’s multi-mission capable workhorse. The service took delivery of the final Block II Super Hornet, closing out a run of 322 one-seater F/A-18Es and 286 two-seated F/A-18Fs, on April 17.
The U.S. Department of Defense and the Norwegian Ministry of Defence announced their intent to continue a bilateral effort to explore advanced solid fuel ramjet technologies. The Tactical High-speed Offensive Ramjet for Extended Range, or THOR-ER.
A keel laying ceremony was held on April 17 at Taiwanese shipbuilder Lungteh Shipbuilding for the 3rd and 4th Min Jiang-class mine laying ships. The vessels are being built for the Republic of China (ROC) Navy.
The Republic of China Navy (ROC Navy, Taiwan) has started a program to upgrade the decoy launchers aboard its French-built Kang Ding-class frigates. Following the upgrade, the DAGAIE MK2 launchers will be able to deploy next gen countermeasures which will better protect the vessels against modern anti-ship missiles.

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) welcomed Rear-Admiral (RADM) Aaron Beng as its new Chief of Navy (CNV) at a Change of Command Parade held at RSS Singapura – Changi Naval Base this morning. During the parade, RADM Beng took over the Navy’s symbol of command from the outgoing CNV, RADM Lew Chuen Hong.
South Korea might have been the country, after China, with the most reported cases of Coronavirus earlier this month, the two shipbuilding giants HHI and DSME appear to be unaffected.
Open sources reported in July 2018 that it had been decided to take a break in the creation of a prospective destroyer (heavy nuclear missile cruiser) of project 23560. A publication in February 2020 in FlotProm online media outlet did not add anything new. However the headline Leader Destroyer Listed as Outsider and some statements (project stopped because of lack of funds, prospective nuclear cruiser is not even discussed, it is a distant future) caused concern of specialists.
