The missile division of the Russian Northern Fleet equipped with K-300P Bastion (NATO reporting name SS-C-5 Stooge) mobile coastal defence missile system passed their winter training course in the Arctic, the Northern Fleet said on April 24, 2020.
On November 23, 2019, the shipbuilders at Halifax Shipyard completed a successful Builder's Sea Trial on the future HMCS Harry DeWolf, Canada’s lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS).
The engineering brigade of the Northern fleet will be formed in 2020, Navy sources said. It will be armed for a broad range of missions ranging from construction and restoration of infrastructure facilities to assault on reinforced positions. The brigade will comprise assault groups equipped with all-terrain vehicles, swamp buggies, bulldozers and tracklayers. The formation will also have sniffer dogs.
